Crane and Floor-Scale Calibration
High-capacity scales — floor scales, crane scales, platform scales — cannot come to a lab, so calibration comes to them, with certified test weights and a plan to load them realistically.

On-site with test weights
Large scales are calibrated on-site using certified, traceable test weights applied across the capacity the scale actually uses, checking accuracy at multiple points, repeatability, and eccentricity (load in different positions on the platform). For very high capacities, calibrated test-weight carts or a combination of weights and reference load techniques are used.
What the certificate confirms
The certificate reports as-found/as-left data across the tested range with uncertainty and pass/fail against your tolerance (and legal-for-trade requirements where applicable). For scales used in shipping, inventory, or batching, that documented accuracy protects both compliance and cost.
Common questions
Do you bring the test weights?
Yes — on-site scale calibration is performed with certified, traceable test weights appropriate to the scale’s capacity. For legal-for-trade scales, note that certification may involve your state’s weights-and-measures requirements.
