Calibration Services in Camarillo

Camarillo has quietly become one of the denser optics, photonics, and life science clusters in Southern California, built around the old Point Mugu and Camarillo Airport corridor. It also sits outside our free Ventura County pickup footprint — so let us be straight about how service works here rather than implying a route that does not run.

How we actually serve Camarillo

Our free pickup and delivery routes cover Orange County on Mondays and Wednesdays, Los Angeles County on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the Inland Empire on Fridays. Camarillo is in Ventura County, roughly 75 miles from the lab, and it is not on those routes. We would rather say that plainly than let you discover it after the first quote.

Two things work well instead. Ship instruments in — most Camarillo accounts do, and it is straightforward for hand tools, pipettes, and bench instruments. Or book on-site calibration at your facility, which for a lab with a substantial instrument population is often the better economics anyway, since nothing leaves your building and nothing loses a day in transit. On-site visits are scheduled about two weeks ahead.

Pipettes are the workload here, and ISO 8655 is the standard

A biotech or diagnostics lab in Camarillo can easily run a hundred air-displacement pipettes, and they are the single most audited instrument in the building. We calibrate to ISO 8655 using both gravimetric and photometric methods. The standard service is 2 channels × 4 volumes; the accredited service is 3 channels × 10 volumes for labs that need the fuller uncertainty picture.

Pipette calibration pairs with the other life science instruments that come due alongside it: balances from analytical benches, incubator and freezer thermometers, and centrifuge tachometers. Our temperature and humidity laboratory covers −196 to 1000 °C, which comfortably spans cryogenic storage through autoclave verification.

Optics, photonics, and the electrical side

The Camarillo optics and photonics cluster runs heavy on electrical and RF test equipment, and that work goes through automated Fluke MET/CAL procedures in our electrical and RF laboratory — digital multimeters to 8.5 digits, power meters, sources, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers. Alongside it, precision dimensional work on the gauges and hard tooling used in optical mounting and assembly.

For anything in a controlled environment, we also perform Kaye validation for IQ/OQ/PQ and can support GMP staffing needs.

What the certificate has to prove

Camarillo life science companies live under ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR, and GMP expectations, and all of them treat calibration records as part of the quality system rather than as maintenance paperwork. Our certificates document as-found and as-left readings, measurement uncertainty, NIST traceability, and the ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 decision rule with TUR.

We are ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited by A2LA under certificate 4296.01, with a quality system compliant to ISO 10012 and applicable portions of AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR. Standard turnaround is 7–10 business days from receipt; expedited service runs at 24, 48, and 72 hours when a validation or release is waiting.

Camarillo calibration FAQs

Do you offer free pickup in Camarillo?

No — Camarillo is in Ventura County, outside our free Orange County, Los Angeles County, and Inland Empire routes. We serve Camarillo through inbound shipping or scheduled on-site calibration at your facility.

Is on-site calibration practical this far from your lab?

Yes, and for labs with a large instrument population it is often the better option. Book roughly two weeks ahead. After-hours and weekend visits can be arranged when equipment is only free outside operating hours.

What pipette service levels do you offer?

Standard is 2 channels at 4 volumes; accredited service is 3 channels at 10 volumes. Both follow ISO 8655 using gravimetric and photometric methods.

How should we ship instruments to you?

Pack them as you would any precision instrument and include a PO or packing list. Ship to 1131 S Richfield Rd, Placentia, CA 92870. Call the lab first if you are sending anything fragile or unusually large so we can watch for it.
