Calibration Services in Cerritos

The Cerritos Industrial Park sits at the junction of the 91 and the 605, and it is one of the more concentrated light-industrial and corporate-office districts in the Gateway Cities — electronics, medical device distribution, contract manufacturing, and the regional offices that support them. It is 14 miles from our lab, closer than most of Los Angeles County.

Electronics work belongs on an automated bench

The electronics concentration in and around the Cerritos Industrial Park sends us a steady stream of electrical test equipment, and that work runs through automated Fluke MET/CAL procedures rather than by hand. Automation is not about speed — it is about repeatability and a data record that does not depend on which technician was at the bench.

Electrical and RF calibration covers digital multimeters to 8.5 digits, oscilloscopes, power supplies and loads, function and signal generators, power meters, and spectrum and network analyzers. Single multimeters from a maintenance cart go through the same procedure as a full instrument rack.

Distribution operations own more instruments than they realize

Cerritos has a large medical device and electronics distribution presence, and distribution businesses are the ones most likely to be surprised by a calibration finding — because the instruments are not on a production floor where somebody watches them.

They are in receiving inspection: calipers and micrometers checking incoming parts against a spec. They are in the warehouse: scales at pack-out and thermometers in any temperature-controlled area. They are in facilities: pressure gauges on compressed air. When a medical device customer audits a distributor under ISO 13485, those instruments are in scope, and a missing calibration record is a finding regardless of who owns the part.

Fourteen miles is close enough to matter

Cerritos is on our free Tuesday and Thursday Los Angeles County route, and the drive is 20 to 30 minutes straight up the 91 — so drop-off is genuinely practical when something is urgent, not a theoretical option. The lab at 1131 S Richfield Rd takes drop-offs Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Proximity also makes on-site calibration easy to schedule for equipment that should not leave the building, and makes expedited turnaround genuinely fast — 24, 48, and 72-hour options are available for a fee, and Cerritos loses almost no time in transit at either end.

Nine disciplines under one accreditation

Dimensional, electrical and RF, temperature and humidity, pressure, mass, pipettes, force and torque, gas flow, and vibration — calibrated in-house in discipline-specific environmentally controlled rooms, under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation from A2LA, certificate 4296.01.

Certificates document as-found and as-left readings, measurement uncertainty, NIST traceability, and the ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 decision rule with TUR. We also repair dimensional instruments with parts stocked for Mitutoyo, Starrett, Interapid, and SPI, with estimates capped at 50% of the cost of new. Standard turnaround is 7–10 business days.

Cerritos calibration FAQs

How close is your lab to Cerritos?

About 14 miles — a 20 to 30 minute drive up the 91 to Placentia. Cerritos is also on our free Tuesday and Thursday Los Angeles County pickup route.

Can we drop instruments off ourselves?

Yes. The lab at 1131 S Richfield Rd, Placentia accepts drop-offs Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Include a PO or packing list.

Do you calibrate spectrum and network analyzers?

Yes. Our electrical and RF laboratory runs automated Fluke MET/CAL procedures covering DMMs to 8.5 digits through spectrum and network analyzers.

We are a distributor, not a manufacturer. Do we need calibration?

If you inspect incoming product, weigh shipments, or monitor storage temperature, those instruments are usually in scope during a customer audit — particularly under ISO 13485. We can review your list and tell you honestly what needs to be on a schedule.
